Recording Studio Design
Audio Data Lab is Sweden's most renowned designer of professional recording facilities. With over 25 years of experience we have designed well over 100 recording facilities for national and international production companies as well as for professional studio-owners and musicians.
The Design Phase
Clients usually approach us with a physical location where they wish to situate their recording facilitity. After an initial discussion where initial site layout and design requirements are settled we begin by assessing background noise levels and existing structural sound-insulation to ensure that the location is suitable.
Once the location has been approved, we discuss the most optimal layout and design. At this stage we create 3D models and computer simulations to design rooms that are as technically perfect as possible.
When the design has been settled and it's technical functions have been optimised we create tailored construction drawings and design documents that fully describes the unique construction of the recording facility.
The Construction Phase
Our drawings and design documents are best put to use by a skilled contractor that has experience with recording studio construction. Since sound-insulation performance is heavily dependant upon using the right methods and building materials we usually recommend that the most cost- and time-effective solution is to engage an experienced contractor. Since this is frequent request we have established a network of experienced and professional contractors that we know fully understand all aspects of recording studio construction.
During the construction phase we also perform a series of on-site evaluation measurements to ensure that the sound-insulation is as expected.
The Installation and Evaluation Phase
When speaker systems, mixing desks and other technical systems have been installed we do the final room adjustments and speaker-system calibrations.
